Ignite Academy
Enterprise learning that leads somewhere
Ignite Academy helps people explore a business idea, develop practical enterprise skills and create a plan they can genuinely use. It gives educators and mentors a clear programme to work with, while keeping their guidance and relationships at the heart of the experience.Move beyond one-off enterprise activities
A single workshop can create excitement, but excitement disappears quickly when there is no clear next step. Ignite Academy gives participants a complete journey from early idea to researched, costed and structured business plan.
The programme breaks business planning into 28 accessible stages. Each stage combines straightforward learning with practical work, so participants immediately apply the subject to an idea of their own.
What is Ignite Academy?
Ignite Academy is the group and education version of Ignite 28. It is designed for schools, colleges, youth programmes,
councils, funders, community organisations and business-support providers delivering enterprise learning or start-up support.
Participants (we call them Creators) access the programme online and build their work step by step. Depending on the package selected, staff or mentors can oversee progress, review submissions and use Ignite as the structure around workshops, mentoring sessions or wider enterprise programmes. What Creators do
Creators develop and test an idea, identify customers, research competitors, explore opportunities and risks,
calculate costs, set prices and build basic financial forecasts. They also consider branding, marketing, sales, operations, business structures, legal responsibilities and the
practical steps required to launch. Reflection stages encourage them to revisit assumptions and strengthen their thinking before moving on.What they will create and learn
By the end of the programme, each creator has a downloadable business plan built from their own work. Just as
importantly, they have practised research, problem solving, communication, financial thinking, creativity and decision making in a realistic context.
The outcome is not simply a certificate or a collection of completed worksheets. It is a clearer understanding of how
business ideas are tested and developed.Technology that supports mentors, not replaces them
Ignite Academy is not there to replace teachers, advisers or business mentors. It gives them a consistent framework,
ready-made content and a clear sequence to build on.
That leaves more time for useful conversations, constructive feedback and personal support. Mentors can focus on
helping participants think more deeply rather than repeatedly explaining the mechanics of every business-planning topic.
Ignite Academy can be used as a guided group programme, an independent learning tool, part of an accelerator or
employability programme, or the digital structure around one-to-one mentoring.
It works for young people experiencing enterprise education for the first time and for adults exploring self-employment or developing an early-stage business idea.Choose how you want to deliver it
Some organisations want a straightforward licence they can manage internally. Others want help with set-up, onboarding, reporting, workshops or ongoing programme delivery.
Ignite Academy offers different levels of support so you can choose a model that fits your team, creator numbers and
intended outcomes.
From set-up to first cohort
We help you decide how Ignite will fit into your existing delivery, prepare staff to use it and make sure Creators have
a clear route into the programme. Supported options can also include workshops, mentoring and additional programme management from GetSet.
Book a short demonstration and we will show you the participant journey, explain the delivery options and discuss how
Ignite could work with the support you already provide.
